more of HK pt.II

OK.. likei  promised i'd get back to part 2 of HK.. theres probably not that much to see, but i'm sure i'll drag it out and make something of it.. where were we last.. oh i dunno but we'll just start from new..
We went to Time Square,

I don't know what was going on here, but there were lots of cameras and vid cameras filming it and interviews going on.. I dunno who this guy is, but he must've been saying something epic cos everyone clapped super loud for him.. hmmm, but yeah, we went in side and we saw little Christmas decorations.

I wanted to give mine a kiss. Len wanted more..

-_-" sigh..

The girls had a nice photo with the creature things.
We sort of split up and went our own separate ways. WK and I and Len and the girls did their own thing. I went to Fortress to window shop as WK was after an HDD for all the bloody video he was shooting. MJPEG eats up space.. 1min = 800MB-1GB fk that.. Well while WK was doing his own thing i got distracted by the sony party shooter.. or whatver its called. Epic.

SOOO cool, i want one.. It like face tracks and takes photos when you smile. Hence my smiling. =]
After we got our shit done, had to pee.

FML.. The mens bathroom was on the next floor, at the opposite end of where we were.. but we got there eventually, Crisis over. By the time we left Times Square it was dark. It gets dark early here. But the night time is just as, or even sometimes, brighter than the day. its Odd.

We went there next. I didn't take photos.. i'm sure you know what kind of things were in there..

I like taking photos at night time. I love the 50mm too =]. So cheap, so good. Had enough of Times Square, off to LFK. Back on the MTR.

Back to taking photos, wk too this time. =]

Dania.

We'd been strolling around for a while trying to find LFK, didn't know it'd be that difficult.. Len was a bit agitated by this time i think ahaha ah well, he'll be right. We walked up this hill, turned round a corner and found a 7/11. Bought some beer and asked where LKF was. It was back down this hill. sigh.. but we got there eventually.

It was busy, and this couple were getting their photo taken. FYI if you didn't know. The lady in purple is holding up the photogs flash and aiming it at the couple. I think it woulda been a really nice shot. I didn't have a good look at the back of his LCD, but in my head it woulda looked good.

Something about this. dunno. like it.
We pretty much came and had a look where Lan Kwai Fong was and went back home, we were all carrying luggage of some sort and it was fair late so we went back. But we knew where it was now. Ran into something cool on the way back.

see it? if not, here's a better view.

lol, i shit you not. i was like GTFO! but its there.. i'm a comedian =] haha epic. No idea how the guys saw it, but they did and informed me of it. good times.
That was pretty much the end of the day/night

short and sweet.

Ciao.

Moving Homes

So today is the day i moved out from my Aunty's house to my OTHER aunties apartment closer in the city.
I'll be living alone as my Aunty has gone to Malaysia for holiday and I am left behind for Christmas alone! oh well.. This apartment is my Aunty Angela's and is basically her spare house which has become a storage room for all her stuff.. i'm not joking.. She's... how can we put it... well off.. So i've moved into her 'storage room' and will be here for the next 10 days or so. I was a bit excited to move but now the novelty has worn off. There is no supermarkets in this area of town, so i can't buy food to cook for myself, the TV doesn't work and i dont get how the hot water works.. sigh... troublesome..

Anyways, this is my bed and the view i have. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful apartment sort of thing.. Big bed, theres a kitchen and bathroom behind me. Clean it up and it'd be a perfect place to live.
Anyways, the thought of spending Christmas alone this year made me a little reminiscent, so i went for a walk down the road just to explore and get my mind off things for a while.

At my current location, the apartment is situated on a steep hill.. Luckily this guy was walking down the hill not pushing up. But yes.. steep none the less.

Up the top of the street they're building again.. For those who don't know, in Asia and Hong Kong they use Bamboo to hold up that green security mesh and basically create a bamboo skeleton of the building, i wondered how many acres of land had to be cleared to create enough bamboo for one building. Then times that by a few thousand, and you get an understanding of how much of the earths natural resources we are destroying for our own needs. All that bamboo.. poor pandas..

I'm sure they reuse the bamboo. I hope they do. I mean.. it is amazing how strong this stuff is, and the people of Hong Kong obviously think so too, if they walk and hang stuff off them 300+ feet in the air.

scooter struggled to get up the hill with his pizza delivery.

There's a street market just down the road. They all look the same to me. Probably are. Saw a pretty girl walk past. She was holding another one in her arms. I'm sure it was in the bag earlier but wanted some air to breathe.

Lots of trolleys on the streets of Hong Kong.

Even sweet potato trolleys =]

Was going to grab a bite at this restaurant, but she poked her head out. I took a photo instead.

Something about this playground in the middle of a metropolis made me think for a while. I should've HDR'd it but got lazy and pulled the detail out from the shadows. Looks a bit ugly, but whatever.

More trolleys.. Love shooting from the hip. Bloody cameras are too obvious, however i can't afford a Leica M9. I think i can live without one. I saw Santa today.
Outside Fortress =] too bad he didn't give me anything from inside the store.. Looks like he lost a bit of weight. Unlike myself.. shit..

Catfood, but no cats today.. I hope it was left for the cats ad not eaten by people. But then again.. some food is better than none. I walked up those stairs.. it was fucken scay.. so i came back down, felt like i was being watched.. no joke.. *shiver* stick to the main roads..

I like dogs.
Went to Pacific Place in Admiralty.. There are NO supermarkets around here.. fml.. only LV, Coach, Prada.. have to MTR it to another suburb, where, I don't know.. 711 is good enough. Anyways, Pacific Place.

So so pretty. Can you guess what they're doing?
Yes. Playing the bells. They actually sounded good. Played some classic Christmas songs to the tune of Bells. There's a skill to it. Really.

This guy would know.

Mr. Conductor.
If only my camera were a little bit better.. =]  soon.. soon.. But yeah.. 70-200 love it.. best $2k spent.. bargain at that too.

The.. bell ringers?

love you 70-200... My artistic interpretation of the bell ringers and christmas lol. ahhh well.. love the bokeh though.

Saw santa again, but i didn't like this one as much..

hmmmmm... s...e...r...i...a...l...... K.......... no.. santa doesn't do that.. but FUCk he looks scary..

I live down there somewhere.. anyways, Merry Christmas to you all. Enjoy it. I shall spend the day doing.. what i do most days.. ;)

I'll photos up soon.

more of HK

So i'm sorta just back tracking in random order now, cos it's a bit hard to keep up to date with things as they happen. But like mentioned earlier, i had some friends who came from Malaysia to hang out with in HK for a few days. I wish we had a bit more time together. Five days seemed to fly, too much to see, not enough time. Seems to always be the case.

This is how we spent most of our days.. So many places to eat in HK just can't visit them all. We wandered around for a bit before we settled on some random restaurant. Was a pretty good choice.
As said earlier before, WK and i pretty much papped all day with photos and video.

Hopefully we see some good footage come out of that lens and camera.. i'll be waiting..
Spent a lot of time shopping.. which everyone loves to do in HK. When not filming or shooting we did a little bit of shopping.

I still kept shooting.

and again.. It was fun to just walk around in a foreign land and explore the surroundings and experience things from a different point of view.

I stood here for a while with WK just watching these men play checkers or something similar.. What seems so normal for then just captivated me. No idea why. There was a fair few groups of men playing their game  in this little park. really amazing.. simple things.

there were animals again. my favourite subject. Stood here for a while shooting this little guy. Kept leaping from pillar to pillar and hiding behind them. Time for a new camera.. 50, 1.8 @ 1600iso is a bit of a struggle. but web viewing is ok.. oh well.. better than no image =] But it do love my camera.. had it for 4 years and its served me well in those years.. shouldn't complain. Love the 50 too ;)

DEPTH OF FIELD <3 ! Len looking happy. It's probably the only photo i have of him looking 'normal'. Truth be told he was actually making a face at me. Just fluked it to look like a smile..

Hunger.. time to eat.

Hiannese chicken. spelt it wrong.. but whatever.. tasted alright.. Was meant to be a Thai restaurant.. tasted Chinese to me, but what do i know..

He got to live another day, we didn't eat him.. but someone may have eaten him by now.. Always feel bad for these fellas in the glass cases.. a bit of a power trip being able to pick who you want to die.. hmm little glimpse of how God feels everyday.. anyways.. i'm agnostic. fk it.

I'm amazed that Hong Kong never stops building, creating, GROWING. Each time i come back it always changes.. amazing when you come from Australia and everything is at a slower more relaxed pace. Mind Boggling really.

spent a lot of time on the MTR, or train for those who don't know. Interesting places to take photos, see a lot of different things, different faces.

she would've said no if i asked.. a little bit scary..

Face masks seem to be the new fashion item for HK. I might get one to hide my face and be mysterious.. or not..

train trips can be boring.. so there needs to be a way to stay amused.

could be this.. or could not be.

i made a terrible joke about this guy.. something to do with the FBI and America's Most Wanted.. you can figure it out for yourselves..

Getting out of the train station and heading up towards the street. Time to go exploring. Ended up in Central, we were looking for Lan Kwai Fong. Took us a while, but we got there. Vy got tired in the process.

tryna find directions, however thats a story for another day. I'll continue this later another day, other wise it'll go for too long.. bit more miscellaneous photos from the night adventures and LKF (Lan Kwai Fong) it'll be up soon.

Enjoy.
