Anyway, unfortunately during a trip to Thailand a couple of months ago I dropped my beloved X100s and killed him. Well, to be fair it was the pavements fault, a nice big old crack in the footpath caused me to trip and land camera first into the pavement. Surprisingly my X100s was still working for a while after the fall, the screen would occasionally flicker to a funky purple and pink, but a good aggressive shake of the camera seemed to fix it. I told you I was rough with me gear.
Eventually my aggressive shaking stopped working and he officially died, Vale X100s, you've been so good to me. We've travelled around the world together and captured some beautiful memories.
We've captured candid moments in time, unnoticed and unseen.
You've been with me on my daily walks, outing with friends and random adventures.
But most importantly, you've been with me at work, helping me make some beautiful images.
They say time heals all wounds, I don't completely agree with it, but it does have some merit. A few months after my X100S died, his successor, prince T arrived. So far the kings replacement seems worthy, the prince is faster, more customisable and is up to date with modern technology like wifi and a better LCD/EVF. There are some gripes, but most of that is due to unfamiliarity with some button layouts and settings.
Prince T's time to shine will surely come soon, but in the meantime, there will be more tears shed for the fallen King.
